Air Compressor Pressure Switches

An air compressor pressure switch turns the compressor on when the pressure reaches the lower setpoint, and turns the compressor off when the pressure in the tank is full. Is your pressure switch leaking out of the unloader valve? Chances are your check valve is bad and NOT the pressure switch.

A note on Ingersoll Rand pressure switches - IR revamped their pressure switch line several years ago. Some older compressors now require a converseion kit that may include items such as a gauge, safety valve, or unloader line.
