Air Compressor Magnetic Starters

Magnetic motor starters provide motor overload protection for reliable operation of your air compressor A magnetic motor starter (AKA Mag Starter) is tied into your incoming building power. An overload relay is also included inside the box. Control lines are sent over to a separate pressure switch which tells the compressor when to turn on. If the compressor calls for air, the pressure switch sends a signal for the contactor to "pull in" and sends power to the drive motor. If the motor overamps or the contactor senses issues in the power, the overload relay will shut down the compressor.

Motor starters are used on all three phase applications as well as single phase applications when the motor does not have built in overload protection.
