High-Temp air dryers are specifically designed to be paired with piston and reciprocating air compressors. Compressed air from a reciprocating compressor is significantly hotter than the air from a rotary screw, which can cause internal damage to a standard refrigerated air dryers. High temp refrigerated dryers are designed to handle this hot incoming air. High temp dryers typically achieve a 50ºF dew point compared to a standard refrigerated air dryer that cools the air to 38ºF. Additional post dryer filtration may be needed to ensure no moisture is seen in the piping system after the air leaves the dryer.
