Ingersoll Rand OEM 47518605001 Thermal Valve Service Kit for R-Series Rotary Screw Compressors

The Ingersoll Rand 47518605001 is a thermal valve kit used on the R-Series rotary screw air compressors between 5 and 15hp. The most common models are R11i and R5.5i but they will work on all the rotary screw compressors below.

The Ingersoll Rand thermal valve actuator sits on the inside of the manifold connected to the bottom of the cooler. This valve opens when the oil gets hot to let coolant flow through the cooler/radiator before the oil is sent back into the sump tank. Typically if your compressor is shutting down on a high temperature, the thermal valve needs to be replaced. It's common for this valve to be replaced every 2-3 years depending on run hours and operating conditions.

This 47518605001 kit includes everything needed to change out the thermal valve, inclding the actuator, spring, o-ring and cage.
