Ingersoll Rand OEM 38471603 Pressure Switch Conversion Kit for 2545E10V/VP Air Compressors

38471603 is a pressure switch conversion kit that replaces pressure switch number 56288764 if you are running the Ingersoll Rand value or value plus 2545E10 piston compressors. This kit includes a replacement pressure switch, copper unloader line, and pressure gauge.

Ingersoll Rand changed pressure switch manufacturers in approximately 2009. The unloader line is now located on the opposite side of the switch. The old pressure switch part number was 56288764. This conversion kit provides all necessary parts to successfully convert your switch to the newer version. If instead you are running an Ingersoll Rand reciprocating compressor manufactured after 2010, you are able to purchase the 23474570 switch separately.

Please note 38471603 will only work with the value package or value plus package 2545E10 compressors that are mounted on a 120 gallon horizontal receiver. This kit will not work if you are running the 2545 with a vertical receiver or if you have a premium package compressor with a centrifugal unloader.

The pressure switch turns the compressor on when it hits the lower pressure setpoint and turns the compressor off when the upper setpoint is reached. This is an OEM switch from Ingersoll Rand. Plenty of aftermarket switches are sold online, but many of them are not rated for the full load amp draw of the compressor and will cause pre-mature wear to the switch. The OEM switch from Ingersoll Rand is rated for a higher amp draw and is much heavier duty compared to others.

If you find your pressure switch is constantly leaking out of the unloader line, you should consider changing the 85582286 check valve instead.
