Gun 288488 OEM Repair Kit for New Graco Contractor Guns

The Graco 288488 gun repair kit is used to replace the needle and internal packings of the New Contractor airless spray guns (released in 2007). This kit is typically needed when the gun starts to spit or is leaking from the handle.

Procedure to use the 288488 gun repair kit:

1. Relieve pressure. Set trigger lock
2. Disconnect fluid hose from gun at swivel
3. Disconnect trigger guard from guard retainer
4. Unscrew handle from gun
5. Remove filter through top of handle
6. Inspect filter (5) for damage to the filter mesh. Replace the filter if the filter mesh has holes or voids.
7. Clean filter Use a soft brush to loosen and remove excess debris.
8. Inspect handle bore for damage. Replace the handle bore if it is corroded or pitted and check material for compatibility with aluminum.
9. Insert clean filter into handle
10. Reattach handle to gun. Tighten securely.
11. Reconnect trigger guard to guard retainer
