Ingersoll Rand HLA1201HE0AA 120cfm Desiccant Dryer w/ EMS Purge Control, -40F F, HLA 120 47593618001

The Ingersoll Rand HLA1201HE0AA is a heatless desiccant air dryer with energy saving purge control which will provide a steady -40ºF dew point for up to 120cfm. As the HLA120 includes purge control, significant energy savings can be accrued due to reduced compressor run time without sacrificing the dew point of the air.

The Energy Management System (EMS) uses a dew point sensor to measure the outlet pressure dew point of the dryer and adjust the operation of the dryer to produce a constant outlet dew point. Prior to the start of each regeneration cycle, the EMS system will determine the dew point by measuring the pressure dew point of the outlet air.

If the air is already dry enough the EMS will continue to switch between towers normally, however both purge valves will remain closed. During this time, the dryer will not consume any purge air, thereby saving energy. Once the dew point sensor determines the air is starting to become saturated, the appropriate purge valve will open and the standard dryer operation will resume.

The dryer delivers an ISO Class 2 dew point to help prevent corrosion, minimize production disruptions and losses due to moisture or contamination. HLA heatless desiccant air dryers are designed to increase reliability and efficiency for consistent delivery of clean, dry compressed air. Ingersoll Rands reliable, high strength, non-acidic desiccant provides maximum performance and is enironmentally friendly.

Ingersoll Rand’s HLA series of heatless desiccant dryers are designed to adsorb moisture from compressed air. The HLA120 dryer is constructed with two towers that alternate between online (drying) and offline (regenerating modes) in order to yield a continuous stream of dry air at the dryer’s outlet. Each tower contains desiccant beads. During normal operation, wet air passes through the online tower and water vapor from the air is adsorbed (collected) on the desiccant beads. While air is being adsorbed in the online tower, the moisture on the desiccant in the offline tower is removed by a process called desorption (regeneration). After an initial rapid depressurization, a portion of dried air from the online tower passes over the desiccant bed and carries the moisture off the bed and out the dryer’s exhaust.

A standard feature of every Ingersoll Rand heatless desiccant dryer is its NEMA 4 package, providing increased protection of electrical components, as well as advanced digital dryer controls and displays. It  includes a NEMA 4 electrical enclosure to protect against water and condensation, a UL/ULC panel and an advanced digital electronic controller. In addition, every HL comes standard with a compressor interlock feature. This substantially prolongs compressor life and improves reliability.

The HLA120 is rated to 120cfm. The complete model number is HLA1201HE0AA and the internal Ingersoll Rand part number is 47593618001. The entire air dryer package operates on 110v/1ph/60hz power.

Features of the Energy Management System:

  • Eliminates waste of compressed air by reducing purge air consumption.
  • A precision ceramic sensor measures outlet pressure dew point.
  • Field adjustable set points of the desired dew point and high humidity alarm.
  • RS-485 communications interface provided with the dryer controller. Adjustable Baud Rate
  • Dryer operation for fixed cycle / EMS mode selected via controller. Dryer can be operated in fixed cycle while dew point transmitter is serviced.
  • High Humidity Alarm

Ingersoll Rand Desiccant Dryer Controls

The advanced digital controller is programmed to execute all valve switching functions, as well as to completely monitor dryer operations. Further, it is MODBUS compatible permitting connection to MODBUS-capable networks and making some remarkable enhanced dryer operating functions. The controller’s full-featured panel includes:

  • Backlit LCD display for viewing critical dryer parameters in all lighting conditions
  • Integrated keypad, providing user with access to all internal functions and selectable displays
  • Schematic depiction of dryer offering visual indication of current operating status
  • Remote alarm contact
  • Failure code storage
  • Multiple displays, from “Dryer On/Off Control” to “Regeneration Sequence Status”

HLA1201HE0AA: 120cfm Heatless Desiccant Air Dryers

  • EMS Energy Saving Purge Control: Reduces purge air consumption based on the dewpoint of the compressed air.
  • Status Panel Display: In addition to the digital controller, a status panel display is also pre-installed. This provides an easy to understand indication of the air dryer status and a schematic diagram of the air dryer.
  • Pre and Post Filtration Included: The HLA120 desiccant dryer includes a .01ppm pre-dryer filter to remove oil residue and dust particles prior to entering the dryer. A 1 micron general purpose dust filter is installed after the air dryer to prevent any desiccant dust from getting downstream.
  • High-Performance Valves: With manifolds angled toward the center at the operator level, the valves are easily accessed for maintenance. A typical diaphragm valve in a heatless dryer can be rebuilt in less  than ten minutes, without removing the valve from the manifold.
  • Reduced Energy Use: Low pressure drop design saves on energy costs and provides an economical drying solution
  • Reliable Operation: High-strength desiccant along with durable valves and components provide extended life
  • Easy to Maintain: A low profile design and easy access to components simplifies installation and maintenance
  • High Air Quality: High-performance desiccant technology delivers ISO Class 2 or Class 1 pressure dew point air for critical applications; high efficiency pre-filter and general Purpose after-filter protect desiccant and downstream air from oil contamination and particulates.
